I know that due to the global pandemic, everyone has experienced their own unique problems. And as we all know, humans are social creatures that need to interact with one another.
Being alone with our thoughts and giving ourselves the space and free time to let our minds wander without social distractions can sometimes feel intimidating. However, there are moments of joy when we spend time to explore ourselves. In our busy day to day lives, we generally forget to spend time with ourselves. We often don’t have the time to understand what we want from ourselves and truly reflect. This year has given me time to reflect on what I want my life, goals and career to look like as well as everything else in between.
Among other things, the events of this year have also effected my travelling plans due to the many restrictions. The images I have shared here were taken on my travels to different cities around the world including Berlin, Milan, Dubai, Istanbul and Harar. Travelling is a hobby of mine that has opened my eyes to learn, understand and tolerate the differences in cultures, which has allowed me to become less judgmental and more open-minded. Self reflection increases self-awareness. Being more open to others also makes us more open to ourselves.
Although we’ve all had a tough time, we’ve also learnt many life lessons and from them, we become better people.
