Getting Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable

Often it may seem like some people never really have to work hard to get to a position you’d give your blood, sweat and tears for. Goals may come into fruition relatively ‘easier’ for certain people. You’re left thinking: Why is this the case? Is it possible to cheat the system into getting what you want?

These were the thoughts I had almost two years ago. Little did I know that I was in for a wide awakening.

The reality is that everyone goes through some form of sacrifice to achieve their own goals. Whether it be sleep, free time or lost opportunities – the sacrifices you make come in different trials throughout your life. Unfortunately, these sacrifices may not be equal across every individual.

Taking the first step is realising where you are at in life. What are your long-term goals, and are you on the right track? Look back a year, and think – would your past self be content with where you are currently at? Time goes incredibly fast and so it’s important to not stay stagnant, forever in the same place, never moving forward.

This was the harsh realisation I had come to almost two years ago. It isn’t until you change your mindset that you can move on from being stuck. Whether it’s changing simple habits or your whole perspective on life, the sooner you start facing reality, the easier it will be!

While we can all appreciate the level of discipline this might take, you have to realise that you are never alone.
