Express Yourself Loud and Proud

Labels are the tags people attach to identify who others are to the world. Labels help us connect with other individuals with similar identities, helps us form bonds and associate ourselves to others. Our overall network is fuelled by these labels, our backgrounds, cultures, languages we speak, careers, lifestyles, hobbies, likes & dislikes our outfit choices, things we eat and the entertainment we consume are all driven by our labels that we were born with or ones that we’ve picked up along the way.

For many of you reading this, our first and most important label is that of being Muslim. Just like approximately 1.7 billion people in the world, this label connects us with various different people from many different cultures and ultimately different walks of life. For me personally, I have formed bonds with many different people just from that alone - the underlying circumstance that we both believe in Allaah and His Messenger, from university to the gym, from the neighbourhood to local shops. Just this label alone has opened so many doors to opportunities, friendships, connections and memories that I couldn’t have possibly obtained without being proud and expressing the label as I do (as everyone should).

For this main reason I believe that these labels are blessings that need to be expressed loudly and proudly to receive its full benefits. The more identities voiced, the more people it connects you with and the more interactions you’ll come to have. Fully aspire to show off every label you can at all times. The doors positive labelling can open are inestimable.
