Al-Hidaya Youth Winter Snapshot

Alhamdulillah, we find ourselves at the start of yet another new Islamic year. May Allah bless you all with a year full of joy and blessings in abundance. Moving into this new Islamic year, the Al-Hidaya Youth Melbourne Committee would like to share what has been happening at Markaz Al-Hidaya and detail what to look forward to in the near future.

Our team has just gone on an excursion to the Aquarium with the Kids and boy did they enjoy it. From all the different types of fish and amphibians to the different rooms showcasing them, they had quite the treat.

During the school holidays both the young boys and girls had their sleepovers jam-packed with lessons, Madih practice, games and fun all around.

As an organisation, we had took part in an event to welcome the new Hijrah calendar year, 1446 AH. The event was full of lessons, nasheed by the Hararian Chanting Group and an award ceremony for those who attended and completed Hajj.

Our Da^wah team, as mentioned in sister Sitra’s article, is going full steam ahead with their layout with new classes and lessons for all ages throughout the week. These are in addition to our usual Saturday evening lessons, Saturday school and Qur’an class. They have produced the AYM series which will be run one Saturday a month as a lecture on important topics carefully curated by our Sheikhs and lead teachers. With food and hot beverages on these cold winter nights, be sure to check out the next one.

In these next couple of months, look out for more lessons and activities. With Rabi^ al-Awwal rolling around, we will be celebrating the Birth of our Prophet with a Mawlid and following that is this year’s much-awaited December 24 Fundraiser.

In saying this, we would love to hear your suggestions. Whether you have ideas for lessons, activity days and excursions, please feel free to reach out to me or drop your ideas in the suggestion box below.
