Joy of Community

‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder’ - Thomas Haynes Bayly
Most of our fondest moments and treasured memories are situated in and amongst people we love and respect. If the reopening of the lockdown has taught us anything, it's how much we miss and cherish community in the entirety of the word. The joy of being with friends you haven't seen in a while, reconnecting with an old teacher, coming together for an Islamic lecture or participating in a fundraiser have been things we have missed and longed for for the majority of this year and the last.
Personally, Covid restrictions gave me just that; a different perspective of my social life and the community that I now hold so close to my heart. It made me cherish and value so immensely the moments that I have, as little or as large as they are. Things like being with old mates, playing soccer at my club or a darsis at the markaz. It makes you realise how socially blessed we are to have the community we have at the Ashir Jama^ah.
May Allah bless the community leaders and reward them for the things they do for us and the growth of the Ashir Jama^ah.
