Celebrating Nabiyy Mawlid
Azam Hassan
The commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the best of mankind, is an occasion celebrated in all corners of the Muslim world. It is a day when Muslims come together and rejoice over our Master Muhammad ﷺ. A day where we reflect on his message that has undoubtedly transformed the lives of many.
From a Hararian Organization Event’s team perspective, it is one of our bigger calendar events of the year. To the people, planning and meetings involved it's an expansive project. Planning started months prior with our grants team successfully acquiring the “24/25 Multicultural Festivals and Events Program” grant for the event which helped us elevate different aspects of the day. This year in particular, our team was set to do it bigger and better than the previous year. Working alongside our team lead, Haji Din, the leaders of the organisation and the help of many of the youth and elders of the community, I believe it was a success. From the hall decorations and interactive area organised by our talented youth girls and the venue banner and lights set up by the youth boys, the day turned out better than we could have imagined.
We also collaborated with other teams to provide coffee, sweets and toasties to help fight the cold. It wouldn’t have been possible without our countless volunteers. I wanted to acknowledge their great efforts and say thank you to both everyone who volunteered and those who joined us on the day to celebrate the great occasion.
